Accessibility statement

The hict.fi website of the Helsinki Doctoral Education Network in Information and Communications Technology (HICT) is subject to the EU’s accessibility directive and we are committed to providing sufficient level of accessibility for the website’s intended target audience.

The current hict.fi website was published in 2014. This accessibility statement was published and updated on 10 November 2020.

Accessibility status of the website

The hict.fi website is partly compliant with the requirements for accessibility. The most significant deficiencies are the following:

Some used text formats are not easy to read (e.g. text is in italics or in very small format). Some content is in the form of pdf files. Images are missing descriptions and some of the images use difficult coloring for color blind people. Most of the content in the webpages was published prior to 23 September 2018.

We are currently planning to publish new hict.fi website in near future (presumably in early 2021) and we will correct the deficiencies in accessibility in the present website. We are also training our staff in providing content in accessible form and monitoring our website’s accessibility status.

Feedback and contact information

If you notice any deficiencies regarding the accessibility of the site, you can provide feedback to: hict-admin@hiit.fi.

We shall respond to your request within 14 days. If your request pertains to a large amount of content, we can extend the response time by a maximum of two weeks. We will notify you, if the response time is to be extended. If we do not deliver the information in an accessible form, we will devise a justified certificate for this in writing.
